Shenzhen, China
Day 5 (22/09/09)
Depart Bangkok: 6.50pm and arrived Shenzhen:10.50pm (local time)
Mr Soo's apartment is beside the Window of the world.
We took a taxi to my friend apartment and the taxi driver has to check with other drivers our destination and finally Mr. Soo guided the driver to his apartment. The taxi charge was Yuan 90
Upon arrival, we took out all our soiled clothes and immediately washed them. Well, before sleeping,I managed to dry all the clothing.
Mr Soo's apartment is approximately 1,600 sq ft and well designed. The price was almost Rm 1 million. Well it consist of a hall, kitchen ,drying yard, 3 bedrooms, one computer room and a store room. Very big and very comfortable place.
Our first Breakfast in Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) outlet
The following morning, after our breakfast in KFC, we left "Shi Min Zhong Xin", Metro station for Loh Wu, the last station at the border between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Upon reaching the border we walked back to the second last station and shop around in one of the complex. Well, a kind sale girl told us to go to Lau Jie where we can shop. I recalled that in one of my company study trip we arrived at this place quite late and has limited time to shop. We quickly took the Metro back to this place called Lau Jie. Big Hurrah, the summer sale was on in this place. Buy Buy Buy and final, my son mentioned that he has not buy anything for himself for his intention was to wait until we were in Hong Kong. Around 3.00pm, Mr Soo called to remind us to returned by 6.30pm so that he could take us to a place where I can witness and see all the electronic gadgets . We left early and upon reaching back to the apartment,5.30pm, we realised the wind were blowing very strongly along the road and most of the umbrella flipped back. Once back in our apartment, Mr Soo called us on the house phone and told us the "Yellow" warning was on air that can be seen on the local channel and we should stay at home until he returned. Sad for my son and me for we were talking about this gadget place even before making this trip. Well, luck was not on our side.. The typhoon was out there and we have no choice but to eat around our apartment and later Mr. Soo treated us for an ice cream. We went back to our apartment earlier in order to plan for our Hong Kong trip..
The taxi fare from our apartment was only Yuan 30 and the bus ticket per pax to Dorsett Hotel was HK $ 40/ per pax. From Apartment in Shenzhen to hotel in Hong Kong ,the duration taken was 2 hours

Chatuchak in Bangkok,thailand
In Bangkok : Day 2
Day 2: Bangkok city
Breakfast in the hotel
Praying to Lord Prapong before proceeding to any where
On Saturday morning, we made our trip to the famous open market, Chatuchak Weekend Market .Everyone should not miss this place. It is always open on Saturday and Sunday only.
Bought some souvenirs for relative and my son bought some magazine to read for the flight to Shenzhen which might take us 3 hours plus. Why buy the magazines here? Well, a week old Newsweek cost only RM2 and not to mention all the English story books that are very very cheap. The books stalls are situated beside the MRT station, Kamphaeng.
Map of Chatuchak below
Stalls layout. For easy excess note the MRT and Skytrain station
Even beautiful puppies are sold here

In LCCT, Kuala Lumpur departure lounge
I took the flight to Bangkok via Kuala Lumpur for I have to meet my son straight from his college after taking his term exam. I took a bus from Penang, 7.00am, 18/09/09 and arrived in KL around 11.45 am
My son asked me to put my main baggage in a locker in KL Sentral that he has heard of. Well, I found the locker and after paying Rm 5. I went down to the information counter and inquired where about is the EPF building in KL so as to nominate my EPF's heritance and was informed the nearest one will be in the city, near to Bank Negara train station. Good for me as I can easy take the KTM direct to( Commuter train as called in KL) Setia Jaya station beside Taylor College.
Before leaving the EPF building, my son called me informing me that he has finished his exam paper and my god!, he left the exam hall earlier by 1 hour. Worried that he could make silly error , I asked him whether he has checked his paper thoroughly and he always answer ,SO So lah!
Anyway the KTM arrived 20 minutes at Setia Jaya from Bank Negara. Called him and he asked me to look for his friend, Amelia. Found her sitting with all my son friends having their break before the session at 2.00pm. Well, my son managed to be exempted for the last seesion and we were given a lift to the nearest LRT station by his friend, Joyce. At the station,he was also given a hug, "western way" by his friend, Natalia, before climbing up to the LRT station which I never seen before. Well, they are very close friend
Took our lunch at KL Sentral and then the airbus journey to LCCT ( Low cost carrier terminal)terminal took nearly an hour.
Sorry , but I have to stop for a while for my son and Mr Soo came to me and informed me of how strong the Typhoon was outside. You can feel glass pane vibrating and the howling sound through the balcony sliding door
Fare involved:
Aero Bus. From KL Sentral to LCCT airport: RM 8.00/pax
Taxi to Hotel in Patunam ( Thailand) Baht 560/ taxi by meter plus Baht 25 for using the express way.
Day 1: Bangkok
Arriving in Bangkok,Thailand
Arrival time 7.50 pm (local time)
Stayed in Grand Watergate hotel again for this trip. As usual, before travelling around in bangkok, we went and prayed to Lord Prapong and then started our window shopping at a Central supermarket along Sukhumvit and Silom. Sad, for there was no big sale during period.
I walked around this area and realize that most of the hotels have the name Watergate behind. I was wondering why and all of a sudden, I recalled the meaning of Patunam : Patu means Gate and Nam means Water. So that is why they call the hotel as Watergate.
Hard trying to recall my Thai language but still manage to go through after a few words. In fact the Thai people offered to correct my pronunciation when I was wrong.
Now a day, I speak less Thai for the Malaysian TV station has shut down the Hatyai TV station after 12.00 midnight. and hence I could not practise!!!
